Chinchillas and Your Vacation

Chinchillas should not be left overnight by themselves. Any number of things could happen from him overturning a food bowl to the water bottle draining out, etc. If you are going on vacation, please make arrangements for someone to check in on your chinchilla every day. He will need fresh water and hay anyway so they can just make sure everything is ok with him in general. Always make sure the friend that is checking on your chin knows of the exotic veterinarian they can contact should there be an emergency.
